If this is your first time doing yoga or coming to one of our workshops, its possible that you have questions. We've put together a few of the most commonly asked questions and answered them as best as possible. Q: Is the Bodhi Tree Studio open during regular business hours? I know what time my class starts, but what time should I arrive?
A: Bodhi Tree Studio is not open all the time during regular business hours. Much of our time is spent preparing for classes, workshops or events, or the studio may be rented out to a private party. With this in mind, the studio will be open 30 minutes before any and all scheduled sessions. You should plan to arrive 10-15 minutes prior to your class or appointment. If you arrive a little late, please be sure to enter the room quietly.

Q: I just ate a big meal, is it still ok to participate in class?
A: Try not to eat 1-2 hours before a class. If you do your yoga practice on a full stomach you might experience some cramping or nausea.

Q: Do I need to bring anything for yoga class?
A: Please bring your yoga mat, a towel and water (we have a limited supply available if you forget). We will have reverse osmosis water for your enjoyment, and we have props available for your use.

Q: What should I wear?
A: We recommend you wear loose comfortable clothing for yoga. We work in bare feet or socks. No shoes in the yoga room please. Heavy scents or lotions are discouraged.

Q: Are there any conditions in which I should NOT participate in yoga?
A: Its best to always check with a doctor if you feel that you have a physical condition that may interfere with your participation. Please let your teacher know about any injuries or conditions that might affect your practice as you might have to modify your poses or skip some postures. Also, it is important to let your teacher know if you are pregnant prior to class.

Q: How will I know if class has been cancelled?

Q: Anything else I should know?
A: Yoga is a quiet and meditative practice. All cell phones must be turned off and particpants should respect other class members by practicing quietly.

Loraine Griffin and her youngest daughter Melanie Griffin have both practiced yoga on different levels for several years and wanted to expand their interest in yoga, fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. With a vacant building that has a long history of foodservice they looked around for something to build upon, something to fit with all the fine businesses on Washington Square in Holland, MI.

The idea started to evolve and Bodhi Tree Yoga & Wellness Studio was born. They hope to be a yoga studio and more. They will bring ingredients for a healthy lifestyle from yoga, meditation, other fitness classes, nutrition, massage, Reiki, spa services and most important life-long learning through classes and workshops.

Loraine and Melanie are passionate in conveying the message that yoga can work for everyone. Together they hope to make new friends by adding a dynamic new business to Washington square that offers an intimate yoga space and a whole lot more.
